Weddings

Some days back, exactly to say on 20th Nov, 2010, one of Anmol's friend (Kiran) got married. The wedding was in Bengoli style in Nagpur. The beauty of the Bengoli wedding in my thoughts is the sound of it. The shankh and the mouth sound that they make differentiates them from the other type of weddings. It creates a celebration atmosphere. I would have loved it if it was more.
Though I wasn't able to go around the city much, still I'll try and give you some tips of the city.
We stayed very far from the city, but near to the station.
For first timers, do not miss Haldiram's Khaman Dhokla. After such a long time I had tasted it. It was only Gujarat that offered this delicacy.
Second thing, people drive amazingly rash out here in Nagpur. So if you are driving, save your breath and slang.
Rickshaw's mostly do not travel with meter reading. And importantly we stayed at Hotel Sundar near station which seemed good, neat and nice room service. It had complimentary breakfast too.
Well if you know more about Nagpur, do tell me. In one day i could gather this.

Konkan in Rains

Diveagaar was a last minute decision. Thought of going to other place in the konkan belt like Srivardhan, hari hareshwara. But ended up here. And for good. Enjoyed the beach throuoghly. The biggest treat was the Sandy beach. wow no stones under the feet was so great a feeling. No fear of falling down and hurting, makes you have more fun. And it was. Neat Beach, very less people and Dhano's ride(though it was animal exploitation). Had fun in the sea till our body parts did not start screaming of breaking down with tiredness. Waves were on our side and tide was at its best. Another great treat was food. yes Konkan belt and good vegetarian food is a rare thing to find. But we did. We had the most authentic steamed Modak and Solcurry. Gosh i had tasted both before and did not like it that much, but this changed my perception. We all ate so much much more, till our foods did not get stuff in our lungs.
The modak just melted in our mouths and the steam has most awesome smell. Adding to it was solcurry with the most oppsite taste. A little tinge of spice from ginger and masala was legen....coming coming.....dary... lengendary, balancing the sweetness. Just a hint. We has to order a day before or an hour before the order was served to us. food at suvarna ganesh

not the first post-Kelvan

Though this is the first post to be seen on the Travelogue.. but its not the official one. Starting of 2010, has been different, and interesting for me. Past year has seen a lot of turbulence, and lot of twists and turns. Things which I had neither foreseen nor expected to be part of my Life process. Its been lot of happenings and will take a lot of time to sink in with those moments.
I would like yours to be a great year ahead and with a little adventure. Happy times with loved ones around you, or find a loved one.
(hopefully in one of the filmy ways.)
I had kept my life without expectations and I am kind of enjoying it that way. Even now, I have lot of doubts, skepticism, of what will happen, but also amazing moments that have come by till now. Its kind of amazing to not know or predict, what will happen and you don't know what will come on the next turn. All you can do is plan the trip not the time spent on the trip.
I wish all of us have a little guts to explore. I loved the part of my life, where everything was happening unexpectedly. Every moment good or sad, made adrenaline rush in the spinal cord. I know then and now its encrusted, that such moments make life.
Happy New Year...2010.
